Account Manager
Own the client relationship, connect strategy to execution, and keep every promise, risk, report, and next step moving before the client has to ask.
Role details: This is a 100% remote contractor role open to applicants worldwide.
The role
You are the person assigned clients trust to know what is happening, what the numbers mean, and what comes next. You lead recurring calls, translate client priorities into clear work, review reporting before it goes out, and make sure risks, renewals, access issues, and open requests are handled before they become surprises.
Paid advertising, SEO, web, content, and operations each have their own specialists. You do not need to perform every specialty. You do need enough context and judgment to connect the work, challenge vague updates, explain results in plain language, and keep the client and team aligned.
This is an ownership role. A polished meeting does not make up for weak follow-through. The standard is a client who feels informed and a team that has clear priorities, decisions, owners, and deadlines.
What you will own
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned client accounts across calls, email, reporting, requests, and renewals.
- Lead recurring strategy calls and quarterly performance reviews with a clear agenda, accurate context, and useful next steps.
- Translate client feedback and requests into complete ClickUp tasks for the correct department, with the owner, dates, priority, context, and definition of done.
- Review reports before delivery. Verify the data, understand the story, and explain what happened, what changed, and what happens next.
- Coordinate work across paid advertising, SEO, web, content, design, and operations so handoffs do not stall.
- Identify account risks, missed commitments, access problems, and client concerns early. Escalate them with the facts and a proposed next step.
- Maintain client communication history, meeting notes, approvals, CRM records, and renewal context where the team can find them.
- Validate newly received client logins on the same business day and document any access blocker, owner, and next action.
How our core values show up in this role
Own It
You own the health of the relationship and the clarity of the account. You do not wait for a client to find the missed commitment or for a specialist to tell you the handoff is unclear.
Over Communicate
You keep clients and teammates informed without creating noise. Progress, decisions, risks, approvals, and changes are documented before anyone has to chase for them.
Understand Before Doing
You understand the client’s goal and the reason behind a request before assigning work. You ask questions when the brief, data, or expected outcome is unclear.
Checked In
You arrive prepared, monitor the channels your role owns, keep ClickUp current, and know where each assigned account stands during your agreed working hours.
Results Over Activity
A completed call or sent report is not the result. The result is a client who understands performance and work that moves toward the agreed business goal.
Only Client Energy
Clients receive calm, accurate communication and clean handoffs. Internal confusion is resolved internally instead of being handed to the client.
Talk Is Cheap
If you commit to a follow-up, you close the loop with proof. If the commitment is at risk, you reset expectations before the deadline becomes a surprise.
What good looks like
- Clients hear from you before they feel the need to chase TailWerks.
- Recurring meetings happen prepared and on schedule, with decisions and next steps documented the same business day.
- Reports are reviewed, accurate, and explained in language the client can use.
- Every client request has a clear owner, date, status, and visible next step.
- Risks, access failures, and missed commitments are raised early with a recovery plan.
- Renewals are prepared conversations based on value, progress, fit, and next priorities, not last-minute surprises.
You may be a strong fit if
- You can manage several client relationships without losing the details or the larger goal.
- You are comfortable leading a meeting, explaining imperfect results, and having a direct conversation when expectations need to be reset.
- You can read a marketing report and separate the useful signal from the vanity metrics.
- You follow up firmly and professionally with both clients and teammates.
- You improve the operating system when the same handoff, reporting, or communication problem keeps appearing.
This role is probably not a fit if
- You prefer to be a friendly messenger rather than the owner of client clarity and follow-through.
- You avoid bad news, difficult conversations, or direct follow-up.
- You forward client requests without understanding them or defining what completion means.
- You rely on memory, private notes, or inboxes instead of keeping ClickUp and client records current.
- You measure success by meetings held and messages sent rather than client confidence and completed commitments.
Required experience
- Client-facing agency or local-service experience managing several accounts or workstreams at once.
- Strong written and spoken English. You will present results, write to clients, and handle hard conversations.
- Working judgment with marketing reporting. You can identify what matters in a Google Ads, SEO, or lead report and ask useful questions.
- Comfort running work through ClickUp or a similar project-management system.
- Ability to maintain an agreed schedule that overlaps the client coverage this role requires.
Helpful, not required
- Pet-industry experience.
- GoHighLevel experience.
- Hands-on time in Google Ads, SEO, websites, reporting, or client onboarding.
